Connacht
Title for our U-14 Boys Badminton Team!
On Friday 27 February the U14 Boys Badminton Team
travelled to Galway Lawn Tennis Club to compete in the Connacht Schools
Badminton Club Championship. The team members comprised of Enda Clogher, Cian
Naughton, Karl Healy and Nikodem Mozgala, all First Year students in the
school. Coláiste Mhuire were in top form and emerged victorious over
several schools from around Connacht and were delighted to meet Rice College,
Westport in the final. All the team members were convincing winners in
their singles games but it was the icing on the cake for them when both
doubles teams also took their matches. The boys will travel to
Gormanstown on 25 March for the All Ireland Schools Badminton Final
where they will meet other provincial winners. We look forward to a great
day out and wish them every success in the final. Thank you to Mrs
Flanagan, Mr Curran and Mrs Clogher for their involvement.

Faith and Life
Celebration
Our
Fifth Years, accompanied by Ms Beirne and Ms Cunniffe, had a wonderful day at
Knock Shrine on Thursday 26th February. The event called "Faith and Life
Celebration" has been running by the Diocese of Elphin for the past seven
years. Its aim is to allow students see the value in life and to realise that
their lives are valuable. The event was lead and organised by Frank McGuinness
with the assistance of the witty Fr. John Harris and by Net Ministries, a youth
group based in Athenry. Through narrative, song, drama, personal stories and a
question slot students got a chance to see how faith can play an important role
in a person's life. Students also got the chance to meet our new Bishop, Fr.
Kevin Doran who lead us in prayer in the beautiful Apparition Chapel to finish
the day.
