This time of year is heaven for Biology students, so on the 8th September, a lovely Autumn day, Ms Fallon's Biology students attended an Ecology workshop in Orange Hill Wood, Co. Offaly where they completed a very important field trip as part of their Leaving Certificate Biology course. As part of this excursion, they studied the variation of plants and animals that are present in broadleaf forests and learned how to estimate the number of plants and animals that make a Woodland their home, as well as understanding how different environmental factors affect the variation and distribution of wildlife in the Ecosystem. It was fantastic to do this research in an old Oak woodland and a lovely day was had by all.
