5th Yr Retreat to Knock
Today our 5th Yrs went on a very enjoyable retreat to Knock.

U14 Ladies Football Quarter Final
Hard luck to the U14 Ladies Football team who were defeated by St. Attracta's Tubbercurry today in the Connacht Quarter Final. This was really a tale of two very different halves. The match was played in Michael Glavey's GAA pitch in Ballinlough. After a pitch inspection and a meeting with the two coaches the referee decided to allow the match to go ahead, even though the pitch was in bad shape through the middle. We played against the wind in the first half and found it very difficult to make inroads in the Attracta's defense. We played very poorly in the first half to leave the score at 4-9 to 1-0 at half time.
After a good talking to the team played completely different in the second half and each player won their position. However it was too little too late and unfortunately we lost 6-11 to 5-4.
This team has great potential and with hard work and dedication they will be formidable opponents in future years.
Well done to all the girls who have trained every week religiously and to their coaches Ms Cuddy and Ms O' Malley. We are very proud of you for your efforts this year.

TY Enterprise Awards
Our TYs entered the Galway Enterprise Awards with a number of their projects. The class was divided into teams by their teacher Ms. Clogher and each team had to 'invent' an enterprise. We are delighted that two of our students, Alan Hevehan and Cathal Donnelly, were awarded first prize for their Science Experiments. Alan and Cathal have been visiting local primary schools bringing science to the classrooms. Our local principals have been very impressed with their enterprise and have been vocal in their praise of our two students. Cathal and Alan now go forward to represent Co. Galway in Croke Park on 2nd April. Well done.
