Ladies Football
Our
U16 Ladies Football team defeated Coláiste na Coirbe today in their
final group match in Galway. The first half was a very keenly contested
affair with Col. Mhuire very slow to react to the ball. Gradually we
began to settle and we were leading at the break by a goal. We began to
dominate in the second half and in the end ran out eventual winners
10-12 to 2-5.
After losing our first match to Oranmore we now
face an anxious wait to see if we have qualified for the next round of
the competition.
Well done to all involved, especially to the St.
Brendan's girls who played their part in the Senior County Shield win
yesterday. Training continues for the girls every Wednesday in the
Mattie McDonagh Centre.
Garda Talk
Our
First Year students today enjoyed a talk given by Garda Donal Hallinan
of Mountbellew Garda Station. Donal visits the school annually to talk
to our students on welfare issues. Today he spoke to them about drug and
alcohol abuse.
